This is another painting that I've done from one of the "sketch marathon" set of studies. I put this one off for a while as I wanted to work on something larger that I thought would be more interesting. However, that one turned out to be a scraper while this one proved to be much more demanding than I expected.
Unlike the previous painting that I posted, I made a few structural and cosmetic changes to the design. There wasn't enough happening in the 5x7 to make it work in a larger size.
I'm not 100% sure that it is finished yet. One of the benefits of photographing and blogging your paintings is that you get to see them in a different context and scale. I made a few changes since first posting this painting (the image shown here is the latest version), but I think the trees would benefit from some additional work.
