Lupine Meadow. 9x12, oil on linen panel. 2016
This is another painting that I've done from one of the "sketch marathon" set of studies. I put this one off for a while as I wanted to work on something larger that I thought would be more interesting. However, that one turned out to be a scraper while this one proved to be much more demanding than I expected.
Unlike the previous painting that I posted, I made a few structural and cosmetic changes to the design. There wasn't enough happening in the 5x7 to make it work in a larger size.
I'm not 100% sure that it is finished yet. One of the benefits of photographing and blogging your paintings is that you get to see them in a different context and scale. I made a few changes since first posting this painting (the image shown here is the latest version), but I think the trees would benefit from some additional work.
I've recently done away with the comments section. If you have questions or comments, please contact me directly. Links from other blogs are always welcome.
