This painting was done on the beach at Discovery Park in Magnolia. There's a really picturesque lighthouse there which I'll get around to painting some other time.
By the time I started working the view across the sound was into the light and the sky was gray and cloudy. I decided to stick with a limited color structure and let the painting be about the light. In the end I managed to get most of what I was aiming for.
