Bainbridge Island (plein air). 9x12, oil on linen panel. 2015
Today I managed to get back to the beach for my last plein air effort of 2015. It was less windy than the last outing but still fairly cold.
After my experiences on the first outing I made a knotted bag that can be filled with stones to keep the tripod stable (it attaches to an extending hook under the main mast).
When painting at the beach everything has to be secured to guard against a sudden gust of wind taking it into Puget Sound. The tool bag that I use to carry tubes of paint is very heavy so it makes a good anchor on which to tie loose things like the tripod bag. I keep a few loose pieces of cord in my bag just for that purpose.
