The image title comes from a quote by Virginia Woolf—the painting is a metaphor for how I envisioned the outcome of my own life.

Orchard Point
A view of the Pacific Northwest shore as seen from the Bremerton Ferry. The painting uses reversed gradients of warm-cool colors in the trees and sky.
Lowlands
A larger-size landscape with a heavily textured deep yellow foreground. The painting was done with a limited palette of raw umber and cadmium yellows.
